Here is my article about increasing your shooting ability and having a faster release: http://inspirationalbasketball.com/10-basketball-shooting-techniques-that-will-increase-your-shooting-percentage-by-20-percent/

I don’t think it is necessary for any player, not just international player…Having the right shooting fundamentals apply to all players because we all have one common goal when shooting, which is making the basket.

I have a ton of basketball dribbling drills. To improve your ball-handling, you have to work on it every day, it is like anything else, the more you practice the better you get. I usually don’t promote my book, but the book has a Monday – Friday Workout which includes 100+ basketball drills. There is a day for shooting and dribbling. You can find a PDF copy of my ebook on the homepage: http://inspirationalbasketball.com/ or you can also find it on Amazon, which is on my homepage on the sidebar.

I’m 14 ,turning 15 next week, and I’ve been really working hard to play jv this coming school year and to overall become a better guard. I’ve been on my grind , trying to practice everyday except Saturday. I feel like I’ve been getting better progressively ,this summer, with the drills I’ve been doing on YouTube (can’t afford a trainer and basketball camps) but I want a system or trainer that’s going to give me a good work out to push me to that next level. I need to work on my shot and I need to work on my confidence. Any advice ?

Jacob – thanks for the comment! You are taking the right steps to put yourself in a position to making the team. I didn’t have the luxury of YouTube back when I was working on my game, but I did use the internet to find basketball drills to improve my game. You should also check out my book on the homepage of this site or on Amazon. The book has a Monday – Friday workout in it and would be great for a kid like yourself who is hungry. It is an addition to what you are already doing. Anyways, what seems to be the issue with your shot and confidence?

Jameson – if you have that mentality about yourself, then you will never make it. Change your perspective about what you don’t have, and work on your game every single day and start thinking about what you do have. I was short but that didn’t matter, no I didn’t make it to the NBA, but basketball took me a lot of places.

Do you go to the Morrison YMCA? If so, I think I played you in H.O.R.S.E. I noted that you didn’t jump when you shot, and I kept trying to do a between the legs ally-oop. If I’m wrong, then that’s just awkward. 🙂
